Muscle Team raises a massive $34,000 for Muscular Dystrophy

 

Thank you to SARRC for nominating Muscular Dystrophy as the official charity for the Asics Adelaide Marathon Festival for the 21st  consecutive year and to the 2007 Muscle Team.

 

134 people chose to use their muscles for those with less muscle power by joining our 2007 Muscle Team.

 

This fantastic group of individuals raised over $34,000.00 for people with a neuromuscular condition and  their families – what a truly amazing result.

 

Our highest fundraiser this year was Andrew O’Connor with an amazing $5535 – a truly remarkable effort.  Other Muscle Team members raising over $1000 dollars were – Paul davies $3102.50, Peter Ashman $1218, Fredericka Giamarelos $1075, Richard Love $1033, Mark Bloomfield 1000.25, Damian Cooper $1000– some outstanding efforts

 

Part of the temptation for this wonderful group of people to raise money is that for every $100 of sponsorship money they raise they have a chance to win a return trip to London with a guaranteed entry in the 2008 Flora London Marathon which is valued at over $4000.  The random draw took place on 28th September and the lucky winner was Andrew O’Connor. Congratulations Andrew, a truly deserving winner with the massive fundraising effort you put in.

 

Thanks to the SA Road Runners Club for their donation of $5.00 from each entry fee.
