CAC

 

The Consumer Advisory Committee (CAC) is an opportunity for anyone who has a neuromuscular condition, a family member or carer to voice their opinions and give feedback to the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
In giving MDA information and suggestions about different aspects that affect people, the organisation will then be able to address these issues.

 

• We have identified the need for a full access audit of the MDA building, resulting in the impending installation of a new door operating device for entry and exit at the rear of the building.
• In the past we have helped country callers gain better access to MDA by promoting the 1800 freecall phone number in the Client Services newsletter (1800 685 266) and offering a voice at organisational level.
• We have been actively involved in consultations for refurbishing the Respite area.
• The Volunteer area will again contain photos of our members at various events.
• Our Chairperson reported the “Wheelie Friendly Tours” runs wheelchair accessible tours and has buses that seat 5 wheelchairs.

 

So as you can see, we talk about, and put into action anything that is of benefit to our members and their families.
