The Muscular Dystrophy Association organises a variety of events throughout the year to raise much needed funds to provide services to those affected by neuromuscular disorders including.
Bow Tie Appeal
Held annually in March. 2007 dates to be determined.
Golf Challenge
Mark Friday5 May 2006 in your diary for the Bow Tie Golf Challenge. Being held at the prestigious Glenelg Golf Club, the day begins at 7.30 am with a sausage sizzle breakfast. Following breakfast is 18 holes Ambrose golf with numerous on course activities. Refreshments including beer, wine, soft drink and morning tea will be served on the course.
Following the game is the post competition luncheon, featuring a 2 course meal, beer, wine and soft drink. A prominent guest speaker will provide the entertainment at the luncheon, where there will also be an auction and prize presentations.

Quiz Night
19 August 2006 at Woodville Town Hall. Which three Australian Prime Ministers have had surnames which begin with the letter M??? What is the largest landlocked country in South America?? If quizzical questions are your thing why not join us at the MDA Annual Quiz Night proudly brought to you by the Bow Tie Bears Volunteer Events Committee. Test your knowledge, have a great night out with friends and support people with muscular dystrophy.
Quiz night will be held at the Woodville Town Hall, 74 Woodville Road Woodville from 7:00pm for a 7:30pm start. Get a table of 8 or 10 together for a good fun evening of quizzes, questions and queries. For those that don’t know the answers you can always win prizes on the chocolate wheel, silent auction, lucky numbers, raffle or perhaps the best paper plane!!. At only $12 person/$10 concession. You wont get a better nights entertainments. BYO drinks and nibbles.

MDA Benefit Ball
Saturday 11 August 2007 is a night you won'tt want to miss out on. Dust off your dancing shoes and dance the night away.
The MDA Ball is being held at the hyatt. Ticket price includes pre dinner drinks, 3 course meal, beer, wine & soft drinks. Grab your partner, your wife, husband, boyfriend or girlfriend – or all of the above and join us for this great night of fun and enjoyment. Enjoyment, fun fashion, silent auction, auction, prizes, raffle and lots more will be experienced by all.

Melbourne Cup
Tuesday 7 November 2006. Yes they’re racing in already to book a seat at the MDA Melbourne Cup Lunch. Bound to be a sell out, this much sought after lunch is the next best thing to being there!!
